Directions

Olde Surber Station is located along the now abandoned railroad that ran from Eagle Rock to New Castle, Virginia. The old railroad is now followed by VA 615 which ends at US Route 220 near Eagle Rock, VA on one end and VA Route 311 in New Castle on the other end.

If you are driving from the south, the best approach is to follow VA Route 311 to New Castle and then follow VA Route 615 to the small village of Oriskany. If you are driving from the north, the best approach is to follow US Route 220 south until you get near the town of Eagle Rock. About one mile north of Eagle Rock is the turn off for VA Route 615 which will lead you to Oriskany. There the old rail bed, now called VA Route 817 intersects with 615. Old Surber Station is located about 3 miles from Oriskany on Old Rail Road.
